Thelohanellosis is a disease of protesoan ethiology, attacking one- and two-years old carp fingerlings. It is caused by myxosporidia Thelohanellus nikolskii Achmerov, 1955. It is manifested by cyst appearance in the fins of one- and two-years old carp fingerlings. This thesis for the first time describes its appearance on the scales of two years old carps (Cyprinus carpio). The morphological characteristics of the spores an histological analysis of plasmodial location suggests that the species is identical with Thelohanellus nikolskii Achmerov, 1955. Fish ponds where the scales infection is detected are a part of the same company, which uses the same breeding material for all objects, regardless the location, thus disseminating the disease. The infection intensity is directly correlated with the scale of adequate preventive-prophylactic and technological measurements application. The correlation of two-years old carp fingerlings thelohanelolosis and Koi herpesvirosis points out to a possible cause-and effect relation, which opens a field for further research.
