Two-year experiment on red clover was carried out under agroecological conditions of the Vojvodina Province (Serbia), with aim of rationalizing the use of mineral nutritions. The content of nitrogen in soil was established by N-min method. The dose of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are established according to Al-method, based on soil-protection and element-production caused by its yield. Then the red clover requirements of the mentioned elements were taken into account. Twelve different treatments were used in the experiment (control, NP2, NK2, NP1K1, NP2K1, NP3K1, NP1K2, NP2K2, NP3K2, NP1K3, NP2K3, NP3K3). The results of the two-year experiment show that the highest forage yield was obtained with NP1K2 treatment whereas the lowest values were achieved with control and NP3K3. The obtained results affirmed the assumption that the irrational use of fertilizers essentially decreases the yield of green forage and thus hay of red clover.
