The journal of the Serbian Genetics Society Genetika (Genetics) was promoted 1969 as Acta Biologica Iugoslavica (ABI) Series F - Genetika. Dr Janko Dumanovic was appointed for the Editor in Chief. In 1997, the new international Editorial Committee took over editing of journal starting from vol. 29, No. 2, 1997. At same time Dr Kosana Konstantinov was appointed as Editor in Chief. From vol. 40 Serbian Genetic Society is publisher of Genetika. The journal is published three times per annum. Full papers published in Genetika from 2002 to nowadays is available online (http://dgsgenetika.org.rs/izdavastvo-casopis-radovi-en.php) as well as abstracts published from 1969 to 2001. During 40 years in journal Genetika was published 1150 scientific papers, average 28.7 paper per year. From 1969 to 1978 were published 299 papers, 1979-1988 307 papers, 270 papers from 1989-1998, and 272 papers during 1999-2008. Among 1150 published papers 159 was published during period of 2004-2008.
