To determine the concentration of melamine in commercial pellet pet feeds for dog and cat. Seventy-one commercial pellet pet feeds for dog and cat were classified into 3 groups, 28 samples of group 1 (expensive imported pet foods), 23 samples of group 2 (medium price and imported or domestic pet foods) and 20 samples of group 3 (low price and domestic sub-packing sale pet foods). All samples were analyzed for melamine contamination by ELISA. The levels of melamine contamination in all samples were 2.5-5.0 and 5.0-7.5 ppm which found at 42.25 percent (30/71 samples) and 35.21 percent (25/71 samples), respectively. The high level of melamine contamination at 7.5-10.0 ppm was at 11.27 percent (8/71 samples) and the highest level was found in group 1.
