Research was to study the effects of diets containing different levels of cassava on total glutathione (tGSH) in erythrocyte of lactating sows and suckling pigs, and T-lymphocyte proliferation of suckling pigs by using completely randomized design experiment. 20 crossbred (LWxLD) lactating sows were divided into 5 groups of 4 animals each. Each group of animal was randomly assigned to one of the experimental diet as following, Broken rice diet (RB100), Diet CCM50, CCM75 and CCM100 which 50 percent, 75 percent and 100 percent of broken rice was replaced by cassava, respectively, and Diet CCB100 which 100 percent of broken rice was replaced by dried-boiled cassava. Results of the study showed that increases of dietary cassava levels significantly increased HCN intake, and resulted to SCN- were highest in CCM100 sows group. SCN- in sows plasma are high correlation on HCN intake of sows (r=0.95). Sows have tGSH more than those in the RB100 group (P LT 0.01) and HCN has influence on tGSH 58 percent. At 25 and 26 days of age, tGSH and T-lymphocyte proliferation of suckling pigs of CCM50, CCM75, CCM100 and CCB100 group were higher than those in RB100 group (P LT 0.01).
