Study in the possibility to introduce specialty pomelo varieties to production in Phu Tho region

The study was conducted from 2002 to 2005 at 9 sites in Tam Nong, Lam Thao and Phu Ninh districts of Phu Tho province with 4 specialty pomelo varieties from 4 localities Phuc Trach, Phu Dien, Bang Luan, and Chi Dam whose names have been also the names of these varieties. The data from 3 year trials showed that natural conditions like rainfall, temperature and soil properties in the 3 research areas were suitable for the growth and development of the 4 tested pomelo varieties. Three 3 varieties, namely Phuc Trach's pomelo, Phu Dien' pomelo, Bang Luan' Pomelo gave blossoms and fruits in the third year.
