Anatomical structure of vine sticks has been investigated in order to establish the possibility for their use in production of fibreboards FBs. Data has been compared with that of spruce, beech and oak that are usually used for this production. It has been established that the wood structure of vine allows for it to be used in manufacture of FBs. Pith area is 18.4% of the cross-section of sticks, and that of wood and bark 65.4 % and 16.2 %, respectively. Cell wall thickness of fibres in vine wood is 7.8 ѓКm and is close to that in wood of beech and oak in young plantations. Fibre length in wood and bast is 668ѓКm y 1398 ѓКm, respectively. The fibre dimensional characteristics obtained show that wood of vine sticks is of relatively low quality as a raw material for production of FBs. Percentage of tracheas in wood of vine sticks is 9% and this means a relatively small effect of these elements on the properties of FBs. Very big is the percentage of parenchymatous elements in wood of vine about 30%, which deteriorates its quality as a raw material for manufacture of FBs.
