The biological agriculture and other integrated agro-ecological activities are actually specific practices which directly lead to the sustainable development of Bulgarian rural regions and of the country as a whole. They could contribute to the ecosystems stabilization, to save and restore the natural resources, to help rural regions development and to avoid the process of abandoning lands. It was found that tiny part of Bulgarian lands was polluted in the past, and there were not ascertained new pollutions during the last 15-20 years. The research activity in the area of biological agriculture requests an approach which is different from the traditional one associated with the conventional farming. It requests much more than finding a new plant protection medicine which is legally permitted for biological output.
