Topical problems of increasing plant products production and reserves for cost-effective use of resources in arable farming in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus were considered. Information on the main agrochemical indices of soil fertility in the Republic as well as the required volume of fertilizer application for increasing of crop growing efficiency was presented. The efficiency and the necessity of application of trace elements and plant protection substances in seed production technology were considered. Results of study of the efficiency of increasing of perennial leguminous crops seedlings were presented. The importance of taking into consideration of the following resourse-saving elements for the effective crop growing was analysed: terms and methods of soil cultivation, plant protection against pests, diseases and weeds. Thus, solution of resource-saving problems in plant production in Belarus should be based on the following factors: rational use of organic and mineral fertilizers providing the deficit-free balance of humus in soil, optimization of phosphorus and potassium content; optimization of arable lands structure, improvement of species and variety composition of perennial grasses; wide application of mixed soil cultivation; increasing of the efficiency of plant chemical protection
