USE OF DISCARDED AVOCADOS FOR FEEDING PELON MEXICANO AND COMMERCIAL PIGS | APROVECHAMIENTO DEL AGUACATE DE DESECHO EN LA ALIMENTACION DEL CERDO PELON MEXICANO Y CERDO COMERCIAL

El objetivo del presente trabajo fue evaluar el valor nutritivo del aguacate de desecho nayarita como una alternativa de alimentación no convencional en cerdos, por lo tanto se realizaron cinco investigaciones, donde en cuatro de ellas se utilizaron los mismos animales, cuatro cerdos Pelón Mexicano y cuatro Yorkshire x Landrace y las mismas condiciones, bajo un diseño de cambio en un arreglo factorial 2x2. Se sugiere que el aguacate Hass nayarita de desecho, por su buena calidad nutritiva, especialmente por su perfil de ácidos grasos, puede ser aprovechado, ya sea para la extracción de aceite ó para usarlo como una alternativa en la alimentación animal. Por otra parte, el uso de aguacate para alimentar cerdos, incluido el Pelón Mexicano, debe determinar una alta digestibilidad de la grasa cruda y al mismo tiempo un considerable deterioro de la retención de N, probablemente debido a una composición desequilibrada de aminoácidos. El balance de N y energía parece ser mejor en los cerdos mejorados con respecto al Pelón Mexicano, pero no parece existir diferencias importantes en el aprovechamiento digestivo a nivel rectal entre cerdos mejorados y Pelón Mexicano, al menos de origen nayarita.

Английский. The aim of the present work was the evaluation of the nutritive value of Nayaritean discarded avocado as an alternative for non conventional feeding in pigs. Five experiments were carry out, four of them using the same animals, four Pelón Mexicano pigs and four Yorkshire x Landrace (YxL) pigs, according a change design in a 2x2 It is suggested that the Nayaritean, discarded Hass avocado, can be utilized either for oil extraction or for animal feeding, due to its good nutritive value, particularly from the point of view of its fatty acid profile. On the other hand, the use of avocado for feeding pigs, the Pelón Mexicano breed included, must determine a high digestibility of crude fat, and at the same time a noteworthy impairment of N retention, probably due to an amino acid imbalance. The N and energy balance appears to be better in improved individuals than in Pelón Mexicano pigs. However, it does not appear to exist differences of importance from the point of view of rectal digestibility when improved pigs are compared to Pelón Mexicano, at least from Nayarit origin.
