Se estudió el efecto del barbecho y la rotación de cultivos (maíz más maní, maíz, yuca y millo) sobre Meloidogyne incognita en plantaciones de tomate (Lycopersicum esculentum) y kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus). El barbecho y la rotación de cultivos con maíz más maní ejercieron un mayor efecto sobre la población de M. incognita en el suelo y permitieron obtener aumentos de 47,9 y 45,9 por ciento en el rendimiento del tomate en bolsas de polietileno y de 31,5 y 46,1 por ciento en el del kenaf en el campo, respecto al testigo.

The effect of fallow and crop rotation (corn plus peanut, corn, cassava and millet) on Meloidogyne incognita was studied in tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum) and kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus) plantations. Fallow and crop rotation with corn plus peanut, influenced greatly on the population of M. incognita in the soil and allowed yield increases oi 47.9 and 45.9 percent in tomato in polyethylene bags, and of 31.5 and 46.1 por ciento in kenaf in the field, with respect to the control.
