The relationship between black pod incidence and the weather in Ghana.
1973
Dakwa, J.T., Cocoa Research Institute, P.O. Box 8, Talo, Ghana
Cocoa black' pod disease incidence increased with frequent rainfalls but not with the total amount of rainfall. The peak of disease incidence always lagged behind the highest levels of these component parts of rainfall. A rise in the maximum, minimum and mean relative humidity corresponded with an increase in disease incidence which, however, decreased with a rise in maximum temperatures. A decrease in both temperature and humidity ranges corresponded with an increase in black pod incidence.
