Determination of the effective factors on pistachio export quantity and its application for future planning.

Pistachio has been as the most important agricultural produce of Iran during the last three decades. It's producing take place in different regions of the country, which are not economically suitable to produce other crops. Nowadays livelihood of many people in aired regions of the country is related to revenue derived from this commodity directly/in indirectly. Programming of scientific exports and finding related obstacles is one of the main objectives of this research project. Data on probable factors affecting pistachio exports for the last three decades (1977-2006) gathered from statistical sources/ visiting related organizations. Data were analyzed using linear and cob- dog- loss export functions and finally linear form was selected due to statistical merits. Results revealed that pistachio production, real banking credits and real export prices has affected exports positively, while pistachio productivity and war has shown a negative correlation with exports. Exports were inelastic for export prices and productivity, low elastic for production and full elastic for banking credits. Due to results of this study, exports can be enhanced by increasing credits amounts to the sector and also by enhancing production of pistachio. It is better to pay attention more to promote productivity than area planted, while deciding about the way of production incensement.
