Preparation a catalogue of agronomic traits for parental inbred lines and their hybrid.

An study was conducted in 2007 at research field of SPII to determine the descriptor characteristics of commercial maize genotypes such as single cross hybrids 704, 700, 647, 500, 400, 307, 260, 201, 301, 403 (sweet corn), 600 (popcorn) and double cross 370 with its single cross parents and inbred line parents of the single crosses. All single cross hybrids and inbred lines were planted in two rows and the double cross hybrid was planted in 4 rows. Each row had 5 meters length. There were two rows space between planted genotype rows. 20 cm distance was considered between plants in each row. All agronomical operations such as weeds and deceases control and so on were conducted based on current methods in Maize and research department of SPII. Finally, descriptor characteristics based on UPOV standard were noted.
