Listeriosis is an infectious disease caused by listeria monocytogenes and characerized by menigoencephalitis, abortion or septicemia. between autumn of 1995 to autumn of 1997, cases of clinical listeriosis in cows were studied in yazd province. total 56 aboration and stillbirth were survied from 3 aboration, listeria monocytogenes (serotype 2a) was isolated. aborted fetuses were edematous and foci of necrosis in the liver and myocardium were observated. the dams showed uteritis. during the study, 3 cows with suspected nervous listeriossis were studied from brain of one cow, listeria monoctogenes (serotype 2a) was isolated. the main clinical signs were, depression. circling and toricollis. all of cases were occurred in the winter and autumn, associated with feeding improparly prepared com silae.
