2009
Yurimoto, T., Seikai National Fisheries Research Inst., Nagasaki (Japan) | Masuyama, T. | Niiro, A. | Maeno, Y. | Kimoto, K.
Green mussels (Perna viridis) were collected in Ariake Bay from October 2008 to February 2009 and their survival and physiological state were monitored. Mussels were abundant in October and died in February; the phytopigment content of the midgut gland and glycogen content of the foot were significantly lower in January than in October. Thus, the mortalities were probably due to physiological debilitation caused by a reduction in water temperature.
