Goals of the thesis to lay the foundation of a systematic body of knowledge about handicraft openwork textiles in Latvia, demonstrating the manufacturing traditions, uniqueness and their place in the common European lace development path by opening museums and private collections for viewing or for scientific research, which would contribute to further development of the knowledge on lace heritage identification and accessibility improvements.
