The progeny of Latvian and Swedish seed orchards and stands at the age of 21 years are analysed. The forest trials were laid in 3 geographically varied regions in 6-8 replications. Both the quantitative (tree preservation, height and d.b.h.) and the qualitative traits (stem form, and thickness of branches) are analysed. The growth rate is slower and number of dead trees is higher for the progeny of Swedish seed orchards and stands (S%=-20,8 ÷ -43,1), but the qualitative traits in some trials are better than for the progeny of Latvian seed orchards and stands. Universal adaptability shows the progeny of Raiskums Scots pine seed orchard and Misa stand to be the highest.
