The aim of research was to study relationships between the results of conventional laboratory tests such as sperm motility or membrane integrity and newly developed flow cytometric evaluations of mitochondrial activity and plasma membrane stability. The relationships between the test results and field fertility after AI (NRR) and relations between predicted non-return rates (PNRR) and NRR was also estimated. The newly developed flow cytometrically analysed parameters of sperm plasma membrane stability and mitochondrial activity proved to be reliable quality markers for FT bull spermatozoa. Prediction of bull fertility is possible by combining several semen quality parameters into a statistical model.
