Quantitative and qualitative analysis of proteins in 8 transgenic tobacco lines (T 1 generation),containing CsLFY and bar genes have been performed at the ear and seedling stages. The results showed the increase of protein content in transgenic lines, especially in leaves. Electrophoresis revealed the similarity of protein spectra of transgenic lines and control tobacco. Proteins with molecular mass 44 kDa and 23 kDa, which corresponded to expression products of CsLFY and bar genes showing constitutive expression, were detected in different plant organs (leaves, leafstalk, stalk and less in roots). The abundance of CsLFY proteins in leaves correlated with increase of total soluble protein accumulation in leaves.
