[Prospects of using some coordination compounds of MN(II), ZN(II) for obtaining biomass from the cyanobacterium Spirulina platensis, enriched with the enzyme superoxyddismutase (SOD)] | Perspektivy ispol'zovaniya nekotoryh koordinatsioonykh soedinenij MN(II), ZN(II) dlya polucheniya biomassy tsianobakterii Spirulina platensis, obogashchennoj fermentom superoksiddismutazoj

Various Mn and Zn complex coordination compounds have been used to study their effect on the accumulation of the enzyme superoxiddismutase in Spirulina platensis biomass. It was found that the stimulatory effect of this coordination compounds depends on both concentration and nature of the metal and ligands. The complex [Mn(COOCH(OH)2COO)(C3N2H4)2(H2O2)].nH2O containing peruvic acid and imidazol as ligands, as weel as the complex [Zn(COO(CH2)4COO)2(C3N2H4)2(H2O2)].nH20, containing adypine acid and imidazol at optimal concentrations of 20 mg/l contribute to the highest increase of enzyme activity (2,52 and 2,2 times respectively, as compared with the control. The complex compounds, containing imidazol as one of their ligands (precursor of hystidine), have a greater effect on SOD content than that the complexes, containing dicarboxyl organic acids only; this being related with the presence of hystidine in the active centre of the enzyme.
