This study was conducted at ISU, Jones, Isabela in 2008 to determine the effect of foliar fertilizers and plant growth substances applied singly or in combination on the growth and yield of up0land rice. The experiment was laid out following the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with the following treatments: T0 - Control (no fertilizer); T1 - Brassinolide (BS); T2 - Gibberillic Acid (GA3); T3 - Foliar Fertilizer alone; T4 - Brassinolide 4 GA3; T5 - GA3 + BS + Foliar Fertilizer; and T6 - Recommended Rate (based on soil analysis). Result of the study shows that the different growth substances and foliar fertilizer used in this study significantly affected the number of productive tillers; length of panicle at maturity (cm), number of filled and unfilled grains, straw yield (kg) and grain yield of the upland rice cv Pinilisa. The study clearly show that the upland rice cv Pinilisa responded well to the application of plant growth substances and foliar fertilizer applied singly or in combination and its growth and yield performance were comparable with the use of inorganic fertilizer.
