The study was undertaken to evaluate the performance of new pigeon pea lines suited under Abra condition. Specifically, it aimed to identify the best performing pigeon pea liens in terms of growth and yield performance under Abra condition and to select and recommend pigeon pea lines to legume farmers in Abra. The study was conducted at the Research area of the Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology, Lagangilang, Abra from June 2008 to March 2009. Six pigeon pea lines (ICP 8863), ICPL 7091, ICPL 88093, ICPL 7035 and farmer variety) were used in the study. A total land area of 1,440 square meters was divided into four blocks representing replication. Each block was further subdivided into 6 p0lots representing the different treatments. The study was laid out following a Randomized Complete Block Design. The data gathered were analyzed using the Analysis of Variance and test of significance among treatment means by DMRT. Results of the study showed that ICPL 7035 obtained the tallest height at 24 days after planting, produced the highest number of marketable and non-marketable pods, registered the heaviest weight of fresh and dry seeds, obtained the heaviest weight of green pods and highest yield in terms of yield per plot and per hectare. On the other hand, ICPL 87091 had significantly produced the longest pod, greate4st number of seed per pod and earliest produce flowers, set pods, fill seeds and mature pods. Based on the findings, ICPL 7035 and ICP 87091 `could be grown by legume farmers in upland areas of Abra.
