Results of breeding value evaluation in Polish Holstein-Friesian bulls [Pt. 1]

In season of calving April-September 2007 (2008/1) breeding values for body and type traits were evaluated by the BLUP animal model. Following traits were included: height measure at rump size, conformation and dairy character, legs and feet, udder, final score, body depth, chest width, rump angle, rump width, rear leg set, foot angle, rear leg set - rear view, fore udder attachment, rear udder height, central ligament, udder depth, rear udder width, fore teat placement, teat length, dairy character. In the Black-and-White Polish Holstein, 7886 sire were evaluated, 5292 of them based on 10 or more daughter. There were 16742 herds and 81020 herd-year-season-classifier subclass
