The objective of a bifactorial field trial, laid out as a randomized block design, was to assess the yield, share of mixture components in the sward, as well as density and persistence of lucerne plants under hay management. Three multispecific mixtures with lucerne were assessed for the impact of cutting at the frequencies of 21, 28, 35 and 42 days following the first cut. Multispecific mixtures responded to the frequent cutting at 21 day intervals with reduced yields, which reduced the share of lucerne in the sward, lowering the stand density and persistence of lucerne plants
