During study on pollution of soil and plants content of Zn, Pb, Cu, Mn, ni, Cd in the soil under lawns was determined. The high level of Zn, Pb and Cd, exceeding limits for light soils, was stated. Gas emission and applied chemicals for road maintenance in winter season were the main sources of soil pollution with these elements. Cu level was low, while Mn and Ni average. The heavy metals content in lawn plants was dependent on theirs content in soil. Among grassy plants Setaria viridis and Festuca rubra had the greatest phytoremediation abilities and among dicotyledonous plants was Taraxacum afficinale
