In the preliminary researches on the Department of Infectious Diseases of Animals and Bees at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Belgrade, Serbia, in the sample of 124 ovine sera, tested by commercial ELISA test, there were 6 positive and 4 suspicious results, which is 4.84; positive and 3.23; suspicious. These results confirm that ovine brucellosis caused by Brucellosa ovis is present in Serbia and it is necessary to conduct more thorough research. Clinical symptoms , epizootiological situation and sero analysis in the laboratory are the ways to make accurate diagnosis. The only test prescribed by the OIE and the European Union (EU) for international trade is the complement fixation test (CFT). Control of B. ovis infection depends of preventing spread of infection between rams.
