Comparative chemical, chemotaxonomical, biochemical and pharmacological investigations of garlic in two grouth stages and nine wild growing taxa of Allium rotundum, A. scorodoprasum, A. sphaerocephalon, A. atroviolaceum, A. vineale and A. guttatum species were carried out with the aim to fulfill the available data on their chemical composition, in vitro antimicrobial and antioxidant activity by different methods of evaluation. Special attention was made to their pharmacological effects, as well as possible herb-drug interactions.
