With aim to establish a high level of food safety for their citizen and conditions for food trade with other countries Republic of Serbia start to change law for food safety. Food Safety Law cover the whole of the food chain, including animal feed production, establish conditions for production and marketing of safe food, clearly attribute primary responsibility for safe food production to industry, producers and supplier, and establish Rapid Alert System, establish independent technical council for risk assessment in food safety. The aim of Food Safety Law is: assuring high level of life and health protection of people; protection of consumers interest including fair trading; protection health and welfare of animals, as well protection of plants and environments. The ability to trace products through the whole food chained is a key issue. The use of scientific advice is underpin Food Safety policy, effective, safeguard measures in response to health emergencies through the food chain will be an important element.
