During our investigations in the territory of Serbia, we determined the presence of eriophyid mites Aceria spp. on plants Amrosia artemisiifolia and Iva xanthifolia. Aceria sp. from A. artemisiifolia causes witches broom and reduced clusters. Aceria sp. from I. xanthifolia causes stunting and twisting of young leaves. The aim of this study was to give morphological description of these Aceria spp. and to establish the type and degree of morphoanatomical alterations induced by the Aceria spp. on the plants of A. artemisiifolia and I. xanthifolia. The results obtained are discussed with regard to the potential use of the mites in the biological control of A. artemisiifolia and I. xanthifolia.
