Rehabilitation of magnesite ore deposol separation Trbusani near Cacak [Serbia]

This paper presents the study of the characteristics of magnesite ore deposol and rehabilitation have been proposed by the separation at Trbusani. A profile and four soil probes were opened on the slope of the mine spoil bank, in 2007. The mechanical analyses of deposol, show highly heterogeneous and thanks to its light texture and this deposol is a highly permeable substrate. Chemical composition of the deposited, shows the alkaline reaction, which is 7.45 to 8.0. The content of organic carbon is very low throughout the profile depth. The supply of available phosphorus is very low, as well as that of available potassium. Ca concentration ranges from 206.0 to 244.0 mg/100 g, and Mg ranges from 122.0 to 158.0 mg/100 g, i.e. it is about 3-4 times higher than the values in the majority of soils. The ratio Ca/Mg ranges from 0.92 to 1.03. The high Mg concentrations in the mine spoil are expected as serpentinites and peridotites. The total content of harmful and dangerous elements is mainly within the limits of usual values in the soil, below the maximum admissible concentration. The exceptions are the high percentages of Ni and Cr. The content of nickel is about 8-11 times higher than the maximum admissible concentration and the content of chromium is about 1.6-3.0 times higher. However, these concentrations are characteristic of serpentinites in which Ni and Cr occur in the low solubility forms. The suitable technical and biological measures of deposol rehabilitation have been proposed.
