By following the results over the years on melioration techniques, implemented on experimental drainage field Varna of Institute of Soil Science (Serbia), it was obtained lots of data, which represents necessary basis for evaluation of the efficiency and feasibility of established melioration techniques. Experimental drainage fields (Dusic et al. 1985), are established in order to examine and quantitatively determine effects for variants of drainage of over moist soils. This will determine the optimal solution for improvement of water-air regime of over moisten soils, and enable economical agricultural production. Monitoring of available meteorological and climate data, analysis of chemical, physical and water-air properties of soil, following the dynamics of moisture, drainage effluence by monitoring variants of drain spacing (horizontal pipe drainage with drain spacing of 20, 25 and 30 m, additional melioration techniques: mole drainage and deep subsoiling) and realized yields, it can be concluded that for the pseudogley type of soil, where experimental field Varna, is established, it is necessary to apply complex ameliorative techniques in order to create conditions which can affect the repair of water-air and physical-mechanical properties of the soil and to overcome all the limitations for intensive use.
