The aim of this thesis was to examine the condition of the soil fruitfulness, chemical characteristics of the soil and trace elements ions concentration: As, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Hg, Mn, Ni, Pb, and Zn, in samples of representative localities in urban soil of city of Novi Sad (Serbia), during 2006 and 2007. The trace elements ions extraction by means of Krishnamurty method, is found as efficacy method for the extraction of pseudo total trace elements ions from domestic soils. Pseudo total concentration values of trace elements ions, frequently does not give us the real state of bioavailability and sources of trace elements ions in soils. MLV (Maximal Limited Values) that are confirmed in samples from particular locations, need further scientific researches. This thesis was also focused on urban soils (including agricultural soils), assessment and measures that provides less toxic metal content and safety food production in urban soils of city of Novi Sad.
