Žabarsko Polje is located along the right bank of the river Velika Morava - from 38.0 km to 58.0 km. Total area of the valley is 8074 ha, of which 6178 ha is agricultural land. Under influence of the river Velika Morava, the unregulated streams which flow from the upper terraces and the clayey soil in the upper horizons, this soil has an unfavourable regime of underground and surface waters. For this reason, it is necessary to restart the activities on the management of the agricultural land in Žabarsko Polje, aiming at the regulation of its water regime, drainage of excessive water, and ameliorative cleaning of the existing channels. Because of the natural specificities and economic conditions of Žabarsko Polje primarily industrial plants and vegetables should be cultivated both in the open, and in glasshouses and plastic houses. In addition, the rotational cropping should include stubble crop production of arable and vegetable crops, using the ideal conditions for their irrigation.
