[Determination of content of iodine in hen eggs and iodized salt of famous trademarks was done by stripping voltammetry]

The content of iodine in packed iodized salt in a range claimed in the producer being on average 31000 microgram/kg for the salt produced according to Standard 51575-2000. The loss of the packing tightness results in reduced content of iodine in salt for 2 months by 40-65%. The content of iodine in iodinated-type hen eggs from several poultry farms is lower by 20-40% than was claimed. Two-three eggs containing 69 microgram of iodine consumed by an adult person will provide day's allowance of iodine and will not result in negative effects. There is given a consumption schedule of monklavite-1 a day recommended for a hen to obtain iodinated eggs with predetermined content of iodine. Iodine contained in the preparation as a complex of poly-N-vinyl amide cycloslphoiodine is resistant and stable. Monklavite-1 also has antiseptic properties. After inclusion in molecule of high polymer iodine loses toxic and irritating properties, but completely preserves its activity as a microelement and antiseptic. Monitoring of the content of iodine in products is an integral part of the production quality control system
