The most prevalent disease of high productive cows (annual milk yield 5500-6000 kg of milk and greater) is ketosis. The disease is often observed at month 1 after calving. In organs and tissues of such animals there is an accumulation of ketone bodies (KB), affection of organs of endocrine system, liver, heart, kidneys. The cause of the disease is a ration unbalanced in protein comprising bad feeds containing oleic acid. In sick animals the content of ketones in blood increases several times, the ratio of ketones changes towards acetoacetic acid and acetone. The involved 3 groups of cows having milk yield of 4700-5000 kg at the age of 3-5 years. The work confirmed direct correlation between the concentration of ketones in blood and milk. In this regard less labor-consuming milk sampling is recommended for diagnosis of ketosis. High milk yields exceeding 5500-6000 kg require greater amount of concentrated feeds resulting thereby in high concentration of ketones in colostrums and milk. The consumption of such products has harmful influence on human.
