Effect of Bacillus subtilis 26D on the hydrogen peroxide level and peroxidase activity in spring wheat plants | Влияние бактерий Bacillus subtilis 26D на содержание пероксида водорода и активность пероксидазы в растениях яровой пшеницы

The protective role of the endophytic bacterium Bacillus subtilis 26D (acting agent of the Phytosporin M preparation) against Bipolaris sorokiniana Shoem (a root rot agent) was studied using laboratory test systems on 3- and 10-day-old wheat seedlings. In experiment 1 after adding to seedlings of a day-old bacterial culture B. subtilis 26D in 5, 10, 15 and 30 min samples were collected to determine the concentration of Hydrogen Peroxide and oxalatoxidase. For analyzing peroxidase activity 10 seedlings were collected in each variant in 0.5, 2, 4 and 6 after treatment. The intensive generation of H2O2 in the cultivation medium happened already minute 15 of the trial. The content of H2O2 increased testifying thereby to a capability of wheat top roots of generating an anti-oxidant phenol complex under effect of bacterial cells. In experiment 2 on 10-day-old seedlings of wheat followed by infection with B. sorokiniana found was local accumulation of anti-oxidant phenol complex in the roots of non-immunized seedlings when infecting. It was found that this bacterium increased the resistance of plants to root rot due to the activation of the pro/antioxidant system. The presence of endophytic bacteria in plants resulted in the early transit accumulation of hydrogen peroxide coupled with the activation of oxalate oxidase and peroxidase isoenzymes
