At present, information systems and information technologies (IS/IT) are an indispensable pre-requisition of a successful management in all fields of economic activities. A proper selection of IS/ITs shouid be based on requirements concerning their functionality. Problems with functionality represent one of the basic causes of problems occurring within the process of implementation and application of information systems in businesses. Requirements concerning functionality shouid be defined in relation to basic objectives of a project and thus also to the mission and stratégy of each enterprise. These requirements can be defined very exactly, e.g. on the base of the development of a procession model. In this páper the survey of requirements concerning IS/IT functionality was defined with regard to the needs of the University Agricultural Enterprise Žabčice, Mendel University of Agriculture and forestry in Brno (Žabičce UAE of MUAF in Brno). The definition of requirements concerning this functionality was possible thanks to the application of the software tool Enterprise Architect (EA), which as one of few UML tools that can integrate management requirements with those contained directly in the model.
