Study on the effects of method prunning to fruit production of Hunglong litchi Thai Nguyen

This study was conducted on 7 years-old of early ripening Hung Long litchi cultivar to examine the effect of pruning to fruit production and growth ability. Pruning of: 10%, 20%, 30% total number of branches in comparison with conventional pruning have been directly effected to flowers differentiation. Pruning of 20% total number of branches have resulted in 54.42% total of branches with completely flowering, the formula of 30% pruning have obtained 60.49%, whereas the controlled formula gained only 24.84%. Rate of vegetative branches for spring season reduced in all pruning formulas to compare with control at the reliable level as 95%. Pruning of 20-30% number of branches have contributed in increasing number of female flowers, rate of fruit set and production as well.
