During the 2006-2008 period at the Institute of Maize - Knezha experimental work with corn hybrid Knezha M611 was carried put. It aimed at determining the effect of water applications during different growth stages on the productivity of maize grown for grain. The experiment was set up using the method of the fractional plots in four replications, seven variants for irrigation. Studied was the effect of cancellation of each one of the consecutive applications in relation to crop growth stages. The highest grain yields 11,000 kg/ha obtained when optimum irrigation was applied during tassell, milk maturity and milk waxy ripeness of maize development . Shown are the results of the investigation which followed the effect of irrigation on grain maize productivity and produce losses under woter - deficit conditions. АГ results obtained showed that under water deficit realized by reducing individual necessary irrigations, the yield decrease was of 10.7 to 17.1% on the average, in the years of the study.
