Results of realized in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus investigations of accumulation of PVX, PVY, PVM, and PVS potato (Solanum tuberosum) viruses in different host plants as well as their revelation in the infected plants by means of immunofluorescent assay (IFA) method were presented. There were used PVY isolates extracted from potato Kupalinka variety, PVX – from Lenino variety, PVM – from potato Uran variety, and PVS – from potato Rassvet variety. Virus isolates were propagated and accumulated in: PVY – in tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum cv. Samsum), PVX – in stramonium (Datura stramonium), PVS – in tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) of Skazka variety, PVM – in tomato plants of Prevoskhodnyj variety. With the help of the studies host plants there was obtained the maximum concentration of viruses which was necessary for the development of antigens and production of the specific diagnostic antiserum. It was stated that stramonium and tobacco plants could be the effective tools for accumulation of PVX infection. The rate of the observed viruses accumulation depended on virus isolate and host plant. The faster development of the infection process and the activity of accumulation was typical for PVY and PVX isolates. In course of the experiments there was proved the possibility of the effective application of tomato plants for the accumulation of PVS and PVM
