The peat deposit evolution processes, its qualitative and quantitative characteristics dependent on the annual volume of the biological material supplied, the composition of the peat-forming plants, as well as on the climatic and hydrological conditions of the biological material decomposition in the conditions the Republic of Belarus are discussed. All the above mentioned is responsible for the peat volume increase and degree of peat decomposition. Some equations to determine the deposit volume and a degree of the peat decomposition in relation to the time of the deposit existence have been obtained. An algorithm for the mathematical model realization has been developed with a consideration given to the cyclic character of the biomass increase in a deposit. Equations have been derived to calculate some properties of a deposit from the composition of its organic substance
