In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus in 2008-2009 there were analyzed the incidence of brown fruit rot (Monilia fructigena Pers.) of rind and wood of apple (Malus) trees of different genetic origin varieties and hybrids in a collection orchard of Fruit Plants Breeding Department of the Institute for Fruit Growing. In course of the experiment there were used 116 apple tree varieties and 92 hybrids of national and foreign selection. Research results showed that there were a lot of incidents of brown fruit rot among apple trees samples. There were marked the presence of a differentiation between varieties samples according to their resistance to the analyzed disease. There were selected sources with high degree of resistance to brown fruit rot of rind and wood: Bananovoye; Belorusskij Sinap; Liberty; Welsy; Lavfam; Fejmez; hybrids of Liberty No. 1; 2; 6; No. 2 Liberty x Antei; 86-55/53; 86-55/57 (Belorusskoe malinovoe x BM41497); 85-27/78 (Charaunitsa x Charaunitsa); No. 1 (No. 34 x BM41497). Crab tree (Malus sieboldii) and its hybrids were highly resistant to rind and wood brown fruit rot and also they had high resistance to scab, powdery mildew and European canker.
