Se estudió el comportamiento de diferentes regímenes de riego en el cultivo del boniato (Ipomoea batatas (L) (Lam) y su influencia en las variaciones poblacionales del nematodo sedentario (Rotylenchulus reniformis Linford y Oliveira, 1940) en la Estación Experimental de Viandas y Vegetales de la Universidad Central, en Remedios, Villa Clara, concluyéndose que cuando se riega el cultivo durante el segundo subperiodo (60-110 días) las poblaciones de dicho nematodo son mínimas, al mismo tiempo que los rendimientos no merman y hay un considerable ahorro de agua.

Lam) upon the populational variations of the sedentary nematode (Rotylenchulus reniformis Linford y Oliveira 1940) was investigated in the experimental station at the Central University in Remedios, Villa Clara. The results showed that, when the crop is irrigated in the second subperiod (60-110 days) the nematodes population was minimun at the same time, the yields don't show any affectation and, the water economy is important.
