The analysis of the farm typologies that range mountain pastures can constitute a real approach to study these systems, making compatible livestock production and conservation of natural resources. The study was carried out in beef-cattle farms grazing in Gorbeia Natural Park. Data about breeding and grazing calendars were collected to determine the different production systems. According to the results there are four beef-cattle farm Typologies: (T1) small farms characterized by an extensive period on mountain pastures utilization and concentrate parturitions during winter; (T2) big farms characterized by similar indoor period as T1, longer valley grazing period and wider breeding calendar; (T3) medium size farms characterized by a similar grazing calendar to T1, similar indoor period to T2 and wider breeding calendar (3 months); and (T4) medium size farm, with sorter mountain pasture utilization, longer indoor period and similar breeding calendar to T2.
