This paper analyzed the sustainability of the goat farms that are located in the area of influence of the PDO "Ibores Cheese" (SE of Cáceres, Spain). This sector is undergoing a difficult period that requires solutions due to this activity contribute to the economic and social development and to the maintenance of the environmental quality of this less-favoured region. We apply a methodological adaptation of the framework known as MESMIS, based on economical, social and environmental indicators. On the one hand, farms that belong to typology 1, have better productivity but less punctuation on the rest of indicators. On the other hand, farms that belong to typology 2 and three, raise less productivity but better punctuation on social and environmental indicators.
