Chaharmahal & Bakhtiyari province with many springs and rivers is one of the most important poplar vegetation in Iran.Population increasing , wood production necessary ,the pressure on natural resources ,increasing competition in produce agriculture productions and financial problems of farmers, are some factors that interesting farmers for producing wood in this province. Therefore research about factors that damage and threat these resources is necessary .Poplar pest management needs the identification of quantity and diversity of plants and animals by means of floristic and faunestic surveys.Quality ecosystem identification carried out with study on relationship among the biotic, nonbiotic and effects of environmental factors on population dynamics of biotic ecosystem members. The study of all of methods for poplar pest control in this province. In this research project, recommended methods that decrease pests population to under economic injurey level pests and environmental and economics aspects were surveyed. Poplar integrated pests of native and foreigne colones and species in this province based on arthropoda fauna collection ,determination of important pests, biology, feeding behaviour, seasonal population fluctuation, identification and application with other control pests methods. Five year research plan during 2002-2006 were carried out in integrated poplar colone and species pests in this province. For this purpose five stations contains Juneghan, Cheshmeh-Ali, Zayandeh-Rood, Baba-Heidar and Boldajy poplar research stations were selected and Arthropoda fauna of poplar were collected in this province. The speciemens after collecting were counted and identified. After this the important poplar pests in this province were determined and biology of these pests studied. For studying resistance and susceptibility of poplar colones to important pests, intensity and population of these pests on the colones that were planted in poplar research adaptation design were studied and measured. Three methods for this purpose were selected. The results indicated that, one leafhopper(Empoasca decadence) and one thrips(Mycterothrips salicis )were new for Iran insect fauna and poplar was new host for this leafhopper. The most important pests were E. decedence, Melanophila picta, M. salicis, Melasoma ١٠٥; populi, Camarotoscena speciosa, Capnodis milliaris, Chaitophorus populeti, Monsteira unicostata and Phleomyzus passerini. The biology cycle of these pests indicated damage of herbivorus insects after poplar planting and preservation period were very important. In addition of these the results showed that resistance and susceptibility of poplar species and colones were differ to these important pests and varried in colones and species in different ages. Therefore poplar resistant is one of the important themes in poplar integrated pest management. The results from this designe indicated that prevention of outbreak pests in poplar planting, agricultural, mechanical, physical ,biological, microbiological and at the end, chemical control recommended for integrated pests management of native and exotic poplar species and colones in this province.
