Research _ extention project for creating and developing of rangelands as well as ground water recharge using flood water spreading _ Jijarm Region

Every year ,from a watershed basin with 994.7KmZ area with located in thenorth west of Jajarm, with latitude and longitudes of 35°50 to 37°l0 and longitude of 55° 40' to 56° 20', great amonnt of water flood flows in Islamabad, seasonal river and finally reach to jajarm desert and become tmusable. Objectives of present project include the best utilization of the water floods aimed to reclamation a ammendment of vegetation cover of range lands and soil fertitzation of marginal lands of Islamabad seasonal river, artificial recharge of acquifers and preventing from going a salin water toward freshwater and finally making appropriate field of waterspreading for research and propagativa aspects. The project has been executed of 342 ha and the volum of earth work was. sum of the technical charactristics are as following. Establishment of a concreted diversion dam on bed of the seasonal river and an aperture_shap concerted opening for water arrival that able todischarge minimum volume of floodwater equal to 9.831113 /sec through Earth soil diversion canal in speed of 0.58m/ sec into widespread network of flood water having eight waterspreader stream and a discharging stream with different height of l.5m from each other.Total lenght of 25.6 km of the project be able to conduct flood water on surface of the field having poorranges with plant type of Artemisia-prosopis and soil with permeability coefficient of 0.085 ; 10* min and deeply light tissue of gravel. The results show positive changes in freshness of the vegetation cover. In addition, great amount of fertilized soil_and manure along with flood spread on surface of the field. It is worth ful to mention that earring out this research and propagative proj ect will be a basis for doing other reseach projects. for example two approved projects under titles of "investigation on role of waterspreading on quantitative and qualitative changes of vegetation cover" and "investigation on role of water spreading on soil fertility" were can be nomitated presented uc to now
