Evaluation of Three Commercial Broilers Performance and Carcass Characteristics in Iran in Different Breeding Condition.

An experiment was conducted to evaluate performance and carcass characteristics of three commercial (A, B and C) broilers in native suggested management condition. The experiment was performed in 3 similar poultry house with 4 replicate and 1600 day-old chicks. Each strain was reared in a separate house and had its suggested management condition. Feed intake, weight gain, feed conversion and mortality was measured weekly. At the age of slaughter (42, 48 and 56 days) carcass weight, leg, breast, liver, heart, abdominal fat were measured. The data analyzed in three periods (0-42, 0-49 and 0-56 days). The completely randomized design (CRD) was used for this experiment. The repeated measurement methods were used for analysis of performance in different weeks. The weights of chicks in strains at the start of the experiment were different, so for investigating of performance in different weeks we use it as a covariate. The result showed that body weight, weight gain, feed intake (g/d) and feed conversion didn't affected by strain when the hatching weight is similar. The comparison of performance in 0-42, 0-49 and 0-56 days showed that only in 0-48 days, body weight and weight gain were significantly differed between strains(p0.05). Weight gain, feed conversion and feed intake were not differing between strains but livability was significantly different and A had a lowest livability. According to result carcass percentage were not affected by strain except in 42 days in C strain that had a lowest carcass percentage. Breast percentage in A in all of the Slaughters age (42, 49 and 56) was lower than others but the percentage of wing, neck was higher.
