Existence of toxic compound in different parts of some plants not only affect on the grazing animals but also may have negative effect (allelopathy) on other feedstuffs. Therefore determination of toxic plants in rangelands are very important for animal nutrition management. Rangelands of Savadkooh in Mazandaran province are very important for providing forage of grazing animals. Due to some local records about digestive problems in livestock, this study was done for identification of toxic plants in this area. Collection and identification of species was done with Flora lranica method. Ultimately, properties such as life form, chemical components, sensitive animals and poisonous part of plant were checked. The results showed that the most abundant toxic plants were Circium arvense, Centaura cyanus, Arctium lappa and Sencio vulgaris that belonged to Asteraceae family. These species with trophyte life form have more frequency because of high resistance to heavy grazing. With regard to increase of alkaloid and glycoside amounts at the end of vegetation stages, grazing management is essential in this phase. Because cows are more sensitive than other animals to different types of these species, grazing cattle in this stage should be restricted
